Technology Replacing Limbs and Organs

The extent of an injury suffered due to an accident at work varies greatly. The seriousness of your injury can depend on the environment you’re working in and the type of risks that you are exposed to on a daily basis. If you do suffer an injury then the recovery time also varies greatly, and could be anything from a ice pack to the knee or a couple of days off. Sometimes though there are more serious accidents that result in people losing limbs or other body parts.

The BBC is having a look whether it’s possible to build a human body with a new Bionic Bodies series on their website and it looks to be a very interesting and insightful interactive read. The first part shows off the latest scientific developments with regards to different technology advancements that can help people that have suffered a personal injury to a certain body part. Parts featured include the brain, ear, skin and legs and also the first bionic eye implant which should be taking place later this year.

It’s definitely worth having a look at the website as it’s very informative and shows the advancements that can really make a difference in people’s lives.
