It’s time for some news from a bit further a field that
caught my eye from across the pond involving a personal injury claim. The story comes from Indiana in America
where two people were involved in a car crash. Whilst car accidents are quite a
common occurrence on the roads, there was something slightly odd about this one
which revealed it to actually be an attempt at an insurance fraud by staging a
traffic accident.
When rescue service were called to the scene of the
accident, they arrived to find two people that were "crying and
complaining of pain" but when taken to hospital were revealed to have only
"extremely minor injuries". As well as this one of the cars involved
on the accident was actually stationary and was revealed to be a set up to try
and make money from personal injury claims as a result of the accident.
Charges have been made against both people involve in the attempted
fraud.
